About Me
Watched your favourite π¬ Iron Man movie and now excited to build a robot but π€·πΎββοΈdon't know where to start. You finally arrived at right place so join me π and follow along .
Here is little bit about me.My name is Mayurπ. I'm a Robotics π€ & Machine Learning engineer who's passionate about sharing my raw experiences and real world knowledge with you through this blog. I'm currently spearheading Applied Research at one of the UK's leading Robotics Labs, where I'm creating innovative π§ self-learning algorithms, enabling robots to learn independently, similar to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
π€ But why write this blog nowπ?
I have been talking with thousands of you through YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and Reddit and there is still a lot of confusion about what it takes to become a robotics engineer. I started this blog because I know it can be hard to figure out how to start making robots or working with them. Maybe you've felt excited watching a π¬ movie like Iron Man and thought, "I want to do that!" But then you wondered, "Where do I begin?" I've been there, too, and I know it can be disappointing π when you can't find good advice.
Learning about robots can be tricky, like trying to assemble IKEA furnitureπͺ without instructions It's like this even now in 2023(It's kind of surprising). And trust me, it was even harder when I started ten years ago!
π― So here's my goal: I want to make it easier for you to get started with robots. I'll share stories from my own life as a π¨π½βπ»robotics & AI engineer, πstudent and robotics startup founder, and I'll show you what it's really like to work on robots and Artificial intelligence. So come join me, and let's make learning about robots fun and easy!
Quick Facts About Me
- π€ I built my first robot when I was 14 and that's including electronics, hardware, and coding.
- π I won 25 + National level robotics competitions (Robowars, maze solver, autonomous robots etc.)
- π I studied two degrees simultaneously, the first one is Electronics & Computer Science and the other one is Signals and communication systems. Recently I finished my Master's in Advanced Robotics & AI from one of the UKβs Biggest Robotics labs and the University of Bristol, UK π¬π§.
- π¦Ώ At university, I started a robotics startup where I am designing the world's first intelligent bionic leg for people with lower limb amputation. I won a fully funded incubator business scholarship from the world's no. 1 university incubator alongside winning multiple national-level innovation scholarships in the UK π¬π§.
- Young Innovators Award from Innovate UK
- A Santander Acceleration Award
- A Santander Graduate Entrepreneur Award
- Startup Breakthrough Bursary
- Bristol Plus Award
- Start-up Scholarship
- Impact & Innovation Scholarship
- Best Industrial Product Design Award - University of Bristol
π¬ I started my YouTube channel to make videos to document my life as a Robotics engineer. I make videos about my robotic startup journey, cutting-edge robotics ideas, books, my research, and university life to help out people like you who want to get into robotics & AI.
π There is so much technical development happening during my day-to-day project work. It is difficult to make videos on all of these insights. That's why every month, I send a newsletter to my subscribers (It's free). This newsletter is a quick read where I share my behind-the-scenes life and thoughts on ongoing projects, startups, and university life. Here are the previous newsletters.
